Most women’s shoe brands only mark products with generic terms such as cowhide or sheepskin, hiding leather grades, origins and finishing techniques. SIMONE, however, fully discloses our leather sourcing system. We exclusively source full-grain genuine leather from time-honored tanneries in Italy and France, including buttery lambskin, smooth calfskin, glossy patent leather and vintage croc-embossed cowhide. Every batch of hide arrives with official tannery inspection certificates and traceable origin codes. Split leather, coated faux leather and synthetic materials are never mixed into our production.
Once raw leather reaches our workshop, skilled artisans sort each hide by hand, discarding flawed pieces with scars or uneven grain, and complete sorting records are properly archived. Every handmade procedure of softening, stretching and cutting leather is logged, enabling complete traceability from raw hide to finished heels.

Many luxury high-heel brands keep their leather processing procedures confidential, covering defects of low-grade hide with thick chemical coatings. SIMONE chooses to expose every detail of our handmade leather workflow for full visual transparency.
We reject mass machine-sprayed heavy coatings used to mask leather blemishes. Instead, we adopt hand-dipped aniline transparent dyes that fully retain the leather’s original natural grain, showcasing authentic pores and delicate textures. Artisans repeatedly stretch and soften stiff raw hides by hand without restrictive harsh chemical layers, eliminating blisters and stuffiness caused by rigid new shoes, and building core comfort starting from the hide itself.
Unlike streamlined mechanical cutting in mass factories, SIMONE artisans layout and cut each hide manually following its natural grain, preserving intact premium leather surfaces and minimizing abrasive stiff seams that rub feet. Upper, lining and insole all adopt consistent full-grain genuine leather from the same source. We never cut corners by using genuine leather only on the upper while filling interiors with faux materials, and full material breakdowns for every layer are fully accessible to customers.

We publicly announce our strict leather selection rule: only full-grain top-layer genuine leather is adopted for all our high heels. We clearly distinguish three categories — full-grain leather, corrected split leather and synthetic leather, and list differences in touch, breathability and durability for easy customer identification. Physical leather swatches are displayed both on our website and offline stores, allowing direct comparison of grain, softness and air permeability among lambskin, calfskin, patent leather and faux leather, with no deceptive marketing packaging.
